The Confederate Party is the fourth-largest party in the United States by membership and elected officeholders.[1] Founded by former Alabama Republican Governor James Dobson in June 2017, the party appears to support the Neo-Confederate and Southern nationalist movements. Accordingly, it draws most of its support from the states of the Deep South, particularly Alabama, where it has the highest organization of any party in the state.[2] It is beginning to supersede the National Socialist Party as the dominant far-right party in American politics; indeed, some Confederate politicians are former NATSOCs, including Tennessee Governor Vladimir Putin.

Soon after its founding, the Confederate Party was able to quickly capture two Senate seats and a governorship in the Upper South and Gulf Coast. However, as of June 20th, all of these seats had been retaken by Republican challengers.
